3. SUKHANA LAKE, Chandigarh

This beautiful lake is  Chandigarh, and it offers a clear view of the surrounding mountains. It was constructed in 1958 by Le Corbusier, the architect of Chandigarh city, along with Chief Engineer P L Verma, and it is a man-made lake. The lake can be found just next to the Rock Garden.
In the pre-post winter time, when the weather is not too hot or cold, this lake is home to many migratory birds like cranes, Siberian ducks, and you will always see fish here. The written history suggests that the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb was the one who originally constructed this garden, and that Maharaja Yadavindra was the one who later reconstructed it. Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Palace of Glass, is a palace that was constructed in the Rajasthani style and is located on the first terrace upper of the Pinjore Garden. The Pinjore Garden was designed in the Mughal architectural style, and it has seven different terraces.

Located 4.5 kilometres away from the Chandigarh Bus Station and directly across from the College of Engineering and Technology in Sector 26, the Butterfly Park is widely regarded as one of the most romantic destinations in all of Chandigarh.
It is one of the best places in Chandigarh, and it covers a total area of 7 acres and is home to 35 different kinds of butterfly. There is also a quiet area here that was designed specifically for the smallest of creatures so that it will not be distracting to those who are hiking along a nature trail.
You will have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of tree and plant life in this park. Both flowers and butterflies have a requirement for one another, and flowers such as marigolds, petunias, lantanas, gazanias, salvias, and dahlias, along with other species, are necessary to satisfy this requirement.
The months of March through October are ideal for a visit to this location, as this is the time of year when the scenery is at its most breathtaking and the butterfly population is at its most vibrant. You will have the opportunity to view this throughout the year, with the exception of the winter months due to the animal’s tendency to hibernate during those months.

10. JAPANESE GARDEN, Chandigarh

The Japanese Garden is a park that spans over 13 acres and was constructed by the Indian government in 2014. It is located in Sector 31 of Chandigarh. On November 7th, Shivraj Patil was the one who officially opened it.
The first of its kind in Chandigarh, this Japanese Garden features waterfalls, pagoda towers, a meditation centre, a golden bamboo grove, and an idol of Buddha.
This Japanese Garden is composed of a front and back section. The first portion was available to the public on November 7, 2014, and the second portion was made available to them on June 4, 2016. These two sections are joined together by a passageway that is decked out in exceptionally stunning paintings of Japanese motifs

This garden was designed using elements of Japanese architecture, and it features touches of Japanese culture throughout its entirety.

11. THE GOVERNMENT MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY, Chandigarh

On May 6th, 1968, Dr. M.S. Randhawa and the Chief Commissioner of Chandigarh were the ones who cut the ribbon and officially opened the Government Museum and Art Gallery of Chandigarh.
Following the partition, the collections were also split up into their respective parts. On April 10, 1948, sixty percent of the objects were allocated to remain in Pakistan, while forty percent of the collections became part of India’s share.
The majority of the museum’s holdings originate from Northern India and include Gandharan sculptures, sculptures from ancient and mediaeval India, and sculptures from other time periods. You will have the opportunity to view miniature paintings from Pahari and Rajasthani cultures here.
This museum houses the most extensive collection of Gandharan sculptures in the entire world. Before the partition, the idols and sculptures were located in Lahore, which was the previous capital of Punjab. After the partition, the idols and sculptures were moved to this museum in order to preserve them for future generations.

12. Fun City Waterpark

It opened in 1995 and was the first amusement park in the area to be located near Chandigarh. Fun City Waterpark is located in Panchkula and is an amusement park. A water park was eventually constructed there after a few years had passed.
There are twenty different rides that guests of all ages can take advantage of at Fun City, making it an excellent destination for vacationers.
